Terms for creators

Chive is operated by Piscis Labs, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Chive”, “we”). These terms apply when you apply to Chive and when you take part in a sponsorship arranged through Chive. By applying you agree to them.

Who can apply

You must be 18 or older, and the social media accounts you give us must be your own.

Applying does not guarantee a sponsorship

We match creators with restaurants based on location, content, and audience. We may not be able to offer you a sponsorship, and we do not promise any number of sponsorships or any amount of compensation.

Briefs

Each sponsorship has a brief. It states the restaurant, general direction for your content (for example a menu item, a promotion, or the overall experience to highlight), the date to post by, and what you receive in return, which may be a meal, a payment, or both. You are free to accept or decline any brief. When you accept one, you agree to deliver what it describes. A brief never tells you what to say: the content and the opinions in it are your own.

Your posts

• Disclose the sponsorship. You must clearly disclose that the post is sponsored, using the platform’s paid partnership label or a tag such as #ad, as required by the US Federal Trade Commission’s endorsement rules.
• Be honest. Your post must reflect your real experience and opinion. We will never ask you to say something you do not believe.
• Tag the restaurant as described in the brief.
• Follow the rules of the platform you post on, and the law.

Use of your content

You keep ownership of the content you create. For content made as part of a sponsorship, you give the sponsoring restaurant and Chive permission to share and repost it, with credit to you, on their own social media accounts and websites. Any wider use, such as paid advertising, will be stated in the brief.

Compensation

You receive what the brief states once you have delivered what it describes. You are responsible for any taxes on what you receive.

Your relationship with Chive

You take part as an independent creator. Nothing in these terms makes you an employee of Piscis Labs, Inc. or of any restaurant.

Ending your participation

You can withdraw at any time by emailing [email protected]. We may remove a creator who does not follow these terms.

Your information

The privacy policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute about these terms or a sponsorship will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you and Chive agree to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page. The terms in force when you accept a brief apply to that sponsorship.
